Relocation, rethinking and rewards

Precision Marketing Group (Precision) joined the Suffolk Carbon Leaders programme to help them identify low carbon, energy saving technologies to install in their new business premises. Relocating to new premises has allowed Precision to make strategic decisions during their building fit-out, opting for low carbon impact fixtures, fittings and machinery. Precision were acutely aware of the potential cost and carbon savings they could achieve if they made the right decisions upfront.

Expert advice and support

The Suffolk Carbon Leaders team were able to provide practical solutions and identify potential savings amounting to 82.5 tCO2e. Precision will be taking forward our recommendations on LED lighting, energy efficient heating and cooling, and in the future aim to harness the benefits of solar power and voltage power optimisation.

In addition, the Suffolk Carbon Leaders team worked with Precision to apply for Grants 4 Growth’s support to implement their new energy efficient LEDs and heating and cooling systems.  Precision’s application to the fund has provided them with a £10,000 capital grant towards the cost of the purchase of the new system and the labour required.  Precision’s application was successful in its bid to achieve funding for two main reasons: they clearly outlined the benefits that the grant would bring to them and they highlighted the potential growth opportunity that inherently comes with being a more sustainable business compared to competitors.

Substantial energy and cost savings

By seeking the expert advice of the Suffolk Carbon Leaders and funding from Grant’s for Growth, Precision has made energy savings of 43 tCO2e, cost savings of £8k and identified potential future areas for further reducing their energy usage and costs.
