Carbon Smart help Aegis win Transparency in Governance Award
At a glittering awards ceremony in central London on Wednesday night, we were pleased to be present when our clients Aegis Group plc won the award for Best Sustainability and Stakeholder Disclosure in a FTSE 250 company. The judges commented that the report was chosen not just for its clear portrayal on what went well in the past year, but also on its honest commentary for what did not go well, proving once and for all that honesty and transparency in sustainability reporting is absolutely the best policy!
The ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards, now in their third year, set the standard for quality reporting at a time when many businesses worldwide are facing increasing difficulties winning over public opinion or communicating successfully with relevant stakeholders. As the Right Hon Michael Portillo stressed in the keynote speech of the evening, transparent reporting is key to broaching this divide between successful business and negative public opinion, an action which will be ever more critical as our economy grapples with the challenges ahead.
We were delighted to be part of the team which helped Aegis Group plc to deliver their excellent report, and the award is a great reflection of the hard work and honest approach which went into its production. Commenting on the award, Frank Krikhaar, Global CR Manager of Aegis Group plc said, “We’re delighted to have received this award. I think it’s a real testament to the efforts of the many people behind our report and Carbon Smart is an essential part of that team. Over the past two years they have helped us improve and this award really shines a spotlight on their contribution.”
Needless to say, we were also delighted to take part in the celebrations at what was a fantastic event.
