CNET Networks concerned with their impact on environment

Interactive media guru, CNET Networks became concerned with the impact that they were having on the environment. In view of takingpositive steps, they engaged Carbon Smart to assist them in understanding their carbon footprint and identify the practical ways that to decrease the effect they were having.
CNET agreed to set a target to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 19 tonnes by 2012, in support of the UK government targets. Having recommended many simple low cost solutions, Carbon Smart will help CNET reach its ambitious target.
Through careful investigation, our specialist team provided CNET with a set of tools to minimise energy consumption and make a real difference to its carbon footprint. The implementation of this has been supported by CNET’s Green Team.
The CNET Green Team, made up of enthusiastic volunteers from across the company have worked with us on an action planning exercise to develop a set of priorities and actions for the next three months. The workshop has also highlighted the need to communicate and motivate all the staff to ensure the programmes success.
"Carbon Smart has given us simple and practical tools to help us use less energy and become more efficient. We believe that an imminent behaviour change programme will inspire our Green Team to get more involved and take ownership, giving them the confidence to communicate to all the staff." Claire Sheldrake, Director of HR.
