The problem

As part of our commitment to continuously improve our CSR reporting process, we decided to engage Carbon Smart to help us make our annual report more complete, accurate and satisfactory to our stakeholders.

The process

Overall, the process provided real value to us. We found Carbon Smart’s engagement straightforward, collaborative, flexible and easy to follow. The project kicked off with an understanding of the relative importance of our different offices and emissions. We soon realised that data quality and coverage varied significantly. Carbon Smart helped us to overcome these barriers. Once the carbon footprint was calculated, Carbon Smart were able to quantify the cost of our footprint and identify where the biggest opportunities for improvement were. For example, internal paper consumption and domestic flights were identified as significant contributors to our carbon footprint and that through modest changes to our practices we could make significant savings.

The team

Carbon Smart’s team provided us with invaluable advice. Their passion and commitment in what they do helped us to more clearly understand where our CSR programme could lead us and how we could get there.

The end result

Carbon Smart has helped us identify, measure, manage and report our main environmental impacts. At the end of the project, Carbon Smart had delivered not only an increase in confidence in our CSR report but also a clearer picture of where and how we should focus our efforts in the coming years.
